Privacy notice

How information is handled when someone visits The Decimal Space or emails the operator.

Who is responsible for this website

What this notice covers

This notice explains how personal data is handled when you visit The Decimal Space or contact us by email. The website provides calculator and converter tools. It does not offer user accounts, subscriptions, payment processing or a public contact form.

Calculator values

Calculator values are processed in the browser on the device you are using. The calculator pages in this release do not send the values you enter to a site database or a server-side calculator account.

Emails you send

If you email us, we process the information in your message and any attachments to read, respond to and manage the enquiry. The lawful basis is our legitimate interests in operating and improving the website and communicating about an enquiry. Please do not email special-category personal data, confidential medical information, payment-card information or other sensitive information unless it is necessary.

Technical and security data

The website is hosted using Hostinger. Hosting and email providers may process technical information needed to deliver, secure and troubleshoot their services, such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps and security logs. We use this information only where needed to run, protect or investigate problems with the website and email service.

Browser storage

The site can use browser storage for appearance preference, favourites and recently used calculators. You can choose whether to allow optional preferences and can change or clear that choice at any time. See the cookies and browser storage notice.

Advertising and analytics

This release does not display AdSense ad units, does not enable Auto ads and does not use analytics. It includes an AdSense ownership meta tag and an ads.txt record to connect the domain for a possible future site review. Before advertising is turned on, the advertising setup, privacy notice and cookie information will be reviewed and the selected Google CMP will be configured for the services actually used.

Who may receive information

Information may be processed by service providers that deliver the website hosting or email service, and by public bodies or professional advisers where disclosure is required or appropriate by law. We do not sell personal data.

How long information is kept

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to deal with an enquiry, operate the website, protect the service or meet legal, accounting or record-keeping obligations. The appropriate period depends on the context and any legal requirement that applies.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or objection to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also have a right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. To exercise a right or ask a question, email hello@thedecimalspace.com.
